About Jack Russell Terrier:
A Jack Russell Terrier is the only breed in history that has travelled to both the north and south poles. A feat that can be never be repeated again ever. Why you ask? The Jack Russell Terriers are the perfect dogs for both adults as well as families. They can also adapt to both apartment as well as yard style of living, after all which dog does not like a yard. The only word of caution for apartment dwellers is that one has to remember to give them an hour of free run every day to ensure that their energies are channelized properly.

Temperament
The JRT has a strong will and mind, which is best, suited for experienced dog owners. The first time owners will find this breed to be quiet a handful. These are intelligent dogs and will need a comprehensive training schedule on an everyday basis. You have to ensure that their mind gets the appropriate stimulation.

The high energy level of this breed may not be suitable for infants and toddlers as they can accidentally knock them off though with little elder children they can make faithful companions and pals. They enjoy playing and their abundant energy will ensure that your child is never bored.

Training & Intelligence
Before you get a Jack Russell Terrier home it is important to know that you would need to give them firm and consistent training. So if you are a first time owner then it might just prove a little difficult for you. Training is integral for this breed, they are strong willed but you have to remember that if not trained well the pet might destroy everything in your home.

Their abundance of energy ensures that they will be willing to learn but you would have to make the training sessions interesting enough to catch their attention.
