They are one of the best family pets. They love water; they even have a distinctive otter like tail, which helps them swim even in tough conditions. Their outer coat is a bit oily that helps them to repel water. Similar to Golden retrievers, they have a soft mouth that helps them retrieve fragile fishing nets from water.

They are also one of the best guide dogs and famous for their sniffing abilities. Police and armed forces recruit these dogs for their sharp guiding and sniffing abilities. Their heightened intelligence is another benefit.
