It was on October 10 when Ashraf and Sabitha, a couple from Palakkad-Malappuram district of Kerala heard a dog wailing. They searched but couldn’t find the exact location of where the whimperings and wails were coming from. They heard the same cries of a dog for two more days until October 12, the family decided to take a close inspection. After searching for a while, the couple finally got to the place from where they could hear a more clear wailing. It was beneath a mound of mud.
The dog and her two puppies were buried below the mud in a minor landslide in Palakkad district. They were rescued 3 days past the landslide. The couple who rescued the dog and her puppies were surprised to see them.
Later the village residents pulled them out, cleaned them, and provided them food and water.
